The last board meeting of 2013 will be held at the Spyglass Inn Restaurant, 2103 Spyglass Drive in Shell Beach. At the hostess station, please tell them that you are with Shell Beach Improvement Group. Although this is a board meeting, members of SBIG are invited to attend. The meeting will start promptly at 5:45 PM.
We will be conducting regular business at the meeting, including the slate of Board Members for 2014, discussion of the January 13th General Meeting and the Installation Dinner. The focus will be on finalizing plans for the Holiday Stroll, Thursday, December 12th, 5 – 8 PM. Please consider volunteering to help with the Santa pictures (we have a photographer!), at the kid’s craft table, or general assistance. You can contact Molly at firstname.lastname@example.org or come to the meeting Monday night.
Beverages including water, iced tea and coffee will be provided. A no-host bar is available and you can order food off the regular member. These will be paid individually by each guest.
SBIG members have been busy planning our Sixth Annual Surfin’ Santa Holiday Stroll! The number of participating businesses has increased this year, so you will be able to enjoy food, beverages, and music from Vista del Mar to Cliff Avenue.
We also have wonderful raffle prizes including a gingerbread house, floral arrangement, & gifts certificates from restaurants & businesses. Raffle tickets will be sold at the Shell Beach Improvement Group booth, located at Central Coast Kayaks on Shell Beach Road. Homemade “Ginger People” can be artistically decorated with candies at our crafts table.
Our elves have wrapped the presents that Santa will be handing out to the children. Our photographer will be on hand to take photos!
Local Arts & Crafts vendors will be selling items to help with your holiday shopping. Musicians and singers will be moving from location to location spreading good cheer. A beautiful, decorated Christmas tree and lights will make Shell Beach Road sparkle!
A highlight of the evening is the “Un-Parade” along the business corridor – don’t miss the fun!
Stop by the SBIG booth for a handout listing participating businesses & location of vendors. We’ll also have 2014 Membership Applications!
On October 8th, SBIG Board Members Katchy Andrews, Molly Montgomery and Erik Howell presented a flat screen TV to the Shell Beach Library. Kate McClure said this donation “will make it possible to post Library and Friends of the Library- sponsored programs, events and announcements in a manner that catches the Library users attention and reduces the number of paper based flyers that have to be printed and posted.”
Kate Riggins, who is the representative from the Library to Shell Beach Improvement Group brought this request to the group. At events such as Pacific Breeze Concerts and the up-coming Holiday Stroll, tickets are sold for donated raffle items. Funds are used for such community service projects and to sponsor events.
