The purpose of our Website is to provide information about our mission, activities, and projects.  We celebrated our 7th anniversary in July, and are proud of our accomplishments in improving the village of Shell Beach.  Our newsletter is published quarterly, emailed to members, and includes information about our meetings, speakers, and up-coming events.  On our membership page, you’ll find a link to the application and information about annual dues.  SBIG invites you to find out more about our group by attending our next meeting!

May 13 General Meeting ~ Meet & Greet Jim Lewis, Pismo Beach City Manager

La Perla del Mar Chapel, 205 Windward Ave. in Shell Beach is a favorite location to introduce and “get to know” our guests speakers!  Doors open at 5:45 (or a little earlier); Mr. Lewis will cover his background and plans as City Manager, his vision for Shell Beach and the Streetscape Plans, and will allow time for questions.

David Addamo, from Red Carpet Winery (which has a new tasting room in Pismo Beach) will be pouring some of his premier wines.  Light appetizers will also be available.

The exhibits for the Shell Beach Streetscape working drawings, which have been updated since our March 11 SBIG meeting to include 11 foot travel lanes, will be on display at the the meeting. This is your opportunity to vote for your preferences for seating, trash receptacles, tree grates, lighting, fencing and pavers.  After compiling the votes, the SBIG board will be making recommendations for the site amenities. Erik Eldridge, Project Engineer, will take these recommendations to the Planning Commission.

Shell Beach Library ~ Extended Hours

The hours at the Shell Beach Library are being extended until 6PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday beginning May 1st.  The Friends of the library has a 24/7 book nook by the library door for the purchase of books.  The price of a book is very low, and the quality very high.

If you do not have a library card, please obtain one, as they are free!  It’s the best bargain in Shell Beach.  The library is located at 230 Leeward Avenue.
